Returns and refunds

Originals and prints from the shop

You can return an original or a print bought in the shop within 14 days of delivery. Write to hello@melaniefleitas.com first so we can tell you how to pack it. The piece has to come back in the condition it arrived, in its original packing or one just as protective.

Return shipping is paid by you, and the original shipping charge is not refunded, unless the piece arrived damaged or is not the one you ordered.

Refunds

Once the piece is back in the studio and checked, we refund the artwork price to the card you paid with, within 10 business days. Once it is refunded, it can take 5 to 10 business days to appear on your statement.

Damaged or wrong piece

If it arrives damaged or it isn't what you ordered, write within 48 hours of delivery with photos. We cover the return shipping and refund everything you paid, shipping included, or send a replacement when there is one.

Cancelling before it ships

You can cancel a paid shop order any time before it ships, including when you receive a shipping quote you don't want to pay. We refund the full amount you paid.

Auctions

Artwork won at auction is final sale: it can't be returned for a change of mind. If it arrives damaged, the section above applies. See the terms of sale for how auctions work.

Commissions

A commissioned painting is made for you, so it can't be returned. The deposit is non-refundable, as stated on the commissions page. If the commission is canceled after you paid it, the deposit is kept, and it may be applied toward any available work on the website.
